SKIN DISEASES

-2S*- Little Folk
Tlicit: ui evaporation from the body going- on continually, day and
Might, through the pores and glands of the skin. This is nature's way of
maintaining the proper temperature of our systems and preserving the soft
ness and flexibility of the skin, and so long as the blood is free from impur
ities no trouble will tesult. When, however, the blood from any cause
becomes infect:*! with humors and acids, these too must be eypelled. and
coming in contact with the delicate fibres and tissues with which the skin is
so abundan.iv supplied they produce irritation and inflammation, and the
effect is shown by Eczema, Acne, Tetter, and skin affections of various kinds.
These impioilies and humors get into the blood through a deranged oi
inactive condition of the system ; the members whose dutv it is to carry off
the waste mid refuse matter of the body fail tc properly perform their work,
and this impure, fermenting matter is left in the system to be absorbed by
the blood. The skin is not only affected by poisons generated within the
system, but poisons from without,
such as Poison Oak, Poison Ivy,
Nettle Rash, etc., enter through the
•pen pores.and glands, and so thor
oughly do they become rooted in the
blood that they are ever present,
or return at certain seasons of each
year to torment the sufferer. Salves,
washes, lotions, etc., cannot cure skin
diseases. True, such treatment re
lieves some of the itching and dis
comfort, and aids in keeping the skin
elean, but it does not reach the real
cause, and at best can be only palli
ating and soothing. A thorough
cleansing of the blood is the only certain cure for skin diseases. S. S. S.,
a gentle acting, safe blooc' purifier, made entirely of vegetable ingredients
of the forest and field, is the proper treatment. S. S. S. goes down into the
circulation, and neutralizes the acids and humors, thoroughly cleansing and
pnrifying the blood, and curing skin affections of every kind. It supplies
to the blood the fresh, nutritive qualities necessary to sustain the skin and
all other parts of the body, and rias the bloofl of any and all poisons. S. S. S.
cares Eczema, Tetter, Acne, Salt Rheum, Poison Oak and Ivy, Nettle Rash,
and all other skin troubles, and cures them permanently by removing every
trace of the cause from the blood. Special book on Skin Diseases and any
■odical advice desired furnished free to all who write.

I have used your S. S. S., spring and faJS,
for the past two years, with the result that it
entirely relieved me of a form of Eczema
which my doctor was uuable to cure. My
arms, lower limbs, and. in fact, the biggest
portion of my whole body was affected, and
when I first began S. S. S. the itching, etc.,
was wc^se, but I continued the remedy with

your medicine, and have recommended it to
others with good results. It it the best blood

Christmas
"Good tidings of great joy to a.l
people” Luke 2:10.
From the earliest history of the
hitmen family the promised Savior,
has been the one all absorbing theme
and thought which has occupied
the minds of all who believe and by
faith accept the first great promise
of God as true, and that promise
made to Adam and Eve, the father
and mother of all who have lived,
all living now, and all who shall
live here after.
This promise was the assurance
of a great Savior who shall come in
to the world to save the lost, which
means all people everywhere who
believe on him, and as it is written
in that first and great promise that
he should bruise the serpents head
Gen, 3:15. that is that he should con
quer catan and destroy his work,
1 John 3:8.
Then looking forward to his coming
ail the believing world of people
were in expectation. The patriarchs
and prophets spake and prophesied
of his coming, and for four thousand
years the generations looked for his
advent, the prophets foretold, in
beautiful figure of the royal person
age who should come, “For unto us
a child is born, unto us a son is
given, and his name shall be called
wonderful, the everlasting Father,
the Mighty God, the Prince of peace,
Is, 9:6 and many similar visions and
sayings of the prophets are record
ed in the Bible during that long per
iod of waiting but in he fulness of
time God sent forth his son into the
world to perform all that he had
promised, this wonderful event come
to pass about nineteen hundred and
ten years ago, and all the Christian
world hail as most sacred the ad
versary of his coming, and the day
is fixed on the 25th of December,
whether or not this is truly the ad
versary of the birth of our Savior
we cannot know but to us it becomes
as true because we accept it as the
day when the angels came to Beth
lehem with the shout of “Glory to
God In the highest, on earth peace
good will toward men, and behold I
bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people, for un
to you is born this day in the city
of David a Savior which is Christ
the Lord." Now let us ncte "three
veryjeomforting and gracious expres
sions.
I Good tidings, That is good news,
a good message, that which is most
needed by a world of helpless and
lost sinners, good tidings, that the
long foretold and long looked for
Savior has come, lie is born in Beth
lehem as foretold by the prophets.
“And thou Bethlehem, art not
the least among the nations, for out
of thee shall come a governor, that
shall rule my people Israel.
II Great joy, The advent or birth
of Jesus was the occasion of great
est joy to all them that believed the
tidings as announced by the angels
joy in the hearts of those who had
so long been looking for his coming
as Simeon in the Temple, when he
took the infant Jesus in his arms,
and said, now Lord let thy servan
depart in peace for mine eyes have*
seen thy salvation” that is, the great
salvation which comes to the world
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
III To all people, How good were
the tidings that came by the angels
from heaven that Jesus came not to
the Jews alone, but that he came
as the world,s great Savior, “For
God sent not his son into the world
to condemn the world, but that the
world through him might be saved,”
Therefore we look to him as an ail
sufficient Savior, who is willing and
able to save all who come unto God
by him.
How careful then should we be,
1 and how thankful should we be, and
; the Christmas morning dawns and
| we think of celebrating it as the
birth day of our living and loving
; Savior.
j “Hail the blest morn when the great
Mediator.
Down from the reions of glory descends.

To be Great impetus to Poultry
Raising
The state of Georgia consumes
$17,000,000 ’worth of poultry and
poultry products annually and ac
cording .to the best estimates at
hand this state only raises $10,000,
000 worth. Thus $7,000,000, or
something like that sum, which
might be kept circulating within
the state, stimulating business and
growing as money has a way of
growing, is sent yearly out of Geor
gia into neighboring states.
This should not be so. It is an un
fortunate situation both for the
state and the great army of con
sumers.
The Atlanta Georgian has been
asked by the Georgia Poultry Asso
ciation to conduct a big poultry
show to be given next montfi, and
it has accepted and gone to work
with zeal to save that $7,000,000
a year in the state. It is an object
worth working hard for. If any per
son or corporation were to offer the
state at large any such sum, coupled
with conditions that, in themselves,
would confer as much individual
benefit on those who gave their
efforts to the end of earning that
sum for the state, we should see
some mighty efforts made to secure
it. But because it comes in no lump
sum, but by little and little, the
proposition does not arouse such
immediate enthusiasm as it should.
The Georgian proposes to awaken
the enthusiasm by its own efforts,
priding itself, as it does, upen being
an exponent of the chicken industry.
Accordingly, the national poultry
show to be held in the Auditorium
Armory, January 9-15, will be under
the auspices of that paper, which
led the subscription with the sum
of $100. and has had the pleasure
of seeing large edditions to that nest
egg. The premiums and prizes to
be awarded are on a scale befitting
such a show, and entries have been
made or promised from twenty-six
states.
Let every one co-operate in efforts
to make this show a success, there
by aiding in a movement to keep
this seven million dollars in the
state of Georgia.—Columbus Ledger

An Old Bachelors Letter To
Santa Clause.
Dear Old Santa Clause;
I know you are busy now get
ting many beautiful presents ready
for Christmas Eve night when you
will make your annual trip to the
homes of little boys and girls and
fill their stockings from the toe to
the top, but it seems as though you
have forgotten where I live. When
I moved from Boytown, I came by
Young Man station, bvt soon moved
to Bachelorsville. Now dear old
Santa, I want to thank you for the
many toys that you brought me
when I lived in Boytown, but we
boys who live in Bachelorsville
have seen thirty or more summers
and have been deprived of many
privileges that we had when we
lived in Young Man Station. When
I lived there I was permitted to
visit those two beautiful towns,
called Twenty-town and Teentown,
where the choicest brides are found
but it is seldom now that we are
permitted to go there, or even stop
while passing through.
Now Santa; It is very sad here
and I am so lonely with no one to
love me and call me sweet names,
but people increase our sadness by
saying that they know that some of
the most homely ones of 11s will
have to stay in Bachelfrsville till
we die.
Dear Old Santa; Won.t you com
fort an old bachelor by bringing me
a sweet little wife, one who will
love me even if my eyes are dim
and my hair is turning grey and
part of my head is bald, one who
will pat me under the chin and say
she loves me best of all, one in
whose eyes I can plainly see that
she loves no one as she loves me,
one whose heart is beating so free,
but beating love strokes for no one
but me, one in whose smiles I can
see the joy of my life, to know I
can call her my own little wife.
Now Santa; There are lots of
things that you have in store, but
if you will bring me a wife, I will
ask you for no more, I want to
make some requests of you Santa,
and that is please don’t bring her
down the chimney for you might
get her smutty and be sure and tie
the top of my sock so she cant get
out. Now Santa, let me urge you
to bring her Christmas-Eve night,
for it is the torment of my life to
be without a wife.
Yours in expectancy,
Old Bachelor

PLANNING
MMEMMMHHaMlNHWN
Let us plan with you, as to room changing and new pieces of fur
niture. Come in, talk it over, look around, and see what you really DO
need. You’ll find that we have a splendid stock of new, durable furni
ture, We are careful buyers, and we have been in the furniture business
a good many years, but as yet don’t dare buy from catalogues. May be
if you get the import of this you’ll realixe how eadly lost you’ll be amid
the maze of of illustrations and vague descriptive matter "of mail order
houses. Besides, there’s not the real pleasure of buying when you buy
away from home, You are always lead by promises of economy; and
you’ll find when you inspect the articles, that you do get cheapness, but b
nothing else.
