THE PEOPLE’S POPULAR PAPER AND THE OFFICIAL ORGAN OF CARROLL COUNTY
CARROLLTON, CARROLL COUNTY, RBOROIA, THURSDAY, JUNE 29 i911
Have You Looked Into the Matter^
Of An Office In This Building •
%Ai AVE you ever thought what part prestige and
w\t reputa.ion play in business success? If your
firm is thought to be successful and prominent in the
business world new bu&inees will come your way. The
old saying is, ‘‘Nothing succeeds like success,’’ and its
truth is demonstrated every day
The question is not so much what you are ac
tually doing in a uusiness way, but rather what people
THINK you are doing.
If you are conducting your business in a shabby
musty office in a cheap locality, your business will be
judged accordingly. You will not be looked upon as
being on the bounding wave of success.
Some few by their masterful aoility, may attract
new customers though surrounded by such unattrctive
‘ conditions, jus^ as some men can wear sTiabby clothes
and yet be considered prosperous, but the great ma-
^ jority, especially the beginner, cannot afford to take
such a chance.
If you are doing business in the mcst up-to-date
building in the city and amid surroundings thrt have
every appearance of prosperity, you will be the recipient
of an entirely different opinion from the world as to
your success. New customers will come to you. Your
patrons will look on you with a much favoring eye.
The very fact that you are in The First Nation
al Bank Building will mean more favor to you than
you realize in a business way.
Rental covers heat, light, janitor service, and
ice water. Only one bill to pay. Think it over.
C. A. LYLE, Renting Agent.
E VEN a dog saves. Why don’t you start
a bank account? It is a natural instinct
with every living creature who does not
perish with a season to save something for a
time of need. Saving is one natural instinct
which everyone should follow. Civilization
provides the bank, a better place for saving
than nature has ever provided. Why don’t
you s art a bank account today.

business in the First National Bank

The courses offered here are just
the same as they are in Atlanta
that our young people can get t!

would in any of the large cites in
which the Draughon Colleges are

The thing for the people of Car

give this college their patronage and
influence so that it may become a
permanent institution. There are
hundreds of young people within a
radius of thirty miles of Carrollton
and we should see that all oi these
who are interested in a business
course will come to Carrnllton. The
Draughon [company is one of the
most progressive and the largest
business college organizations in
this country and they will natually
advertise this college liberally and
do all .they can to see that it succeeds.

Card of Thanks
Please allow me space in your
peper to express my sincere thanks
to those who supported me in the
recent election, I trust that I may
never grow too tired or busy to do a
favor for any one of them as op
portunity may afford. As Repre
sentative I shall endeavor to know
neither friend or foe; but labor on
the side of measure as I think may
be of the most good to the greatest
number of people.
Respectfully,
John T. Hixon.
Sidewalks to be Paved
That the Mayor and Council of
this city are in line with Progressive
Carrollton is shown by the fact that
they have resolved to put cement
walks on ail the main streets, and
already work is being done on Depot
street Wljile the walks will be a
little expensive to the property
owners, costing them 10 cents a
square foot or 60 cents a running
foot, wejbelieve all will join in ex-
eending thanks to our City Fathers
for this move.
