some time ago by a snake, continues to
improve.

business trip to Bremen Saturday after

section. The showers are so small and
it is so dry that they do not last long.
The army worm litis made its appear
ance in this section, but it is just won
derful how you can kill them with cal
cium arsenate.
The annual revivals that have been

The little caterpillar is playing havoc
with cotton in this settlement. Some
have used calcium arsenate with good
results and some got poisoned and stop
ped. Some haven’t done anything yet

cotton ns it is so showery that it is
a great risk to put out calcium, for it
is said that if it rains right after it is
put on it is washed off and no good is
accomplished.
Messrs. F. J. Jackson and H. W. Bor
ougli had a narrow escape from being
killed one night last week. They wore
in the latter’s ear and had started tc

Jackson lost control of the ear nnd it
began to zig zng across the road, and
as it was turned to keep from going in
a ditch it turned over and rolled down
I he road. Fortunately they were not
badly hurt. Mr. Earl Story continued
the trip for the doctor for Mr. Dor
ough's mother who was very ill. In
the meantime Mr. Jackson got help nnd
got the ear up and earried it up to Mr
Talley’s. The ear was not very badly
damaged, the wind-shield being broken
nnd the top was damaged some also the
fenders and body bruised up. We nre
glad to say that Mrs. Borough, foi
whom they were going after the doctor
is much improved.

We nre blessed with good rains here
on the Gittle Tallapoosa and crops that
have been worked are very promising.
The annua) camp meeting at Bettiel
is now running and efforts arc being
made everywhere to induce the people
who must surely go to the great judg
ment day to return unto the Gord, who
will abundantly bless them. Remember
that we must do the returning and that
no one can returan, who has not once
been there.
Mr. John Bradley and family, of
Draketown, have been in a visit this
■week to Mr. Amos Morrow nnd^lfamily
here.
Mrs. T. V. Hagan nnd children nre
visiting the family of Mr. Allen Barnes
at this time. Her little boy has been
here for a good while, but will now re
turn.
Mr. Joe Ward and some of his folks
were on a visit to his brother, Tol, one
day recently. Also Mr. Raymond Beck
Mrs. Jim Gambert, nee N. V. Fuller,
was on if short visit to her sister last
week.
She is now old,
Will soon pass away,

We had another fine rain here at the
old river home on Sunday and we arc
having splendid rains now and corn and
cotton look well. But all these blcss-
i'-gs come from the Gord, who doetli
all things well. We should love and
serve Him at all times as the giver of
all good.
G. G. ’s letter in last issue is good in
deed, and so is J. G.’s from home.
