travelling in the North-west, and gives the;
following as the result of his observations:
Our recent trip to the North-West, afford
ed us a good opportunity to ascertain t tie •
leehnw of the people, with regard to the j
itiluie of trie country. XVe found that every
damp follower of the Federal army—every |
shoddy contractor —every silver spoon and j
gold watch thief, are to be found marshaling
tinder the Radical banner. These men are
iliost noisy ; one Icing able to make tvs much
tost as ten quiet, honest men. XVc found
the truly honest and patriotic „mcn quiet,
hut firm, and confident ot consigning the!
Radical party to a political grave of infamy
;& ‘he Fall elections. The test at the North
»s between those in favor of republican gov
ernment and those who wish a government
based upon the principle ot despotism—that
might is right. XX’e have stronger faith
than ever in the Intelligence and patri tism
Os the people, and look forward to an over
whelming victory over the silver spoon and
thieving party.
