Miss Virgie Hale returned yesterday
from Warm Springs, where she spent
some time very pleasantly as the guest
of Miss Annie May Leverett.

The indications last night were that
we would have a heavy frost this
morning, and possibly a light freeze.
It is to be hoped such will not be the
case, and that gardens and fruit will
escape such a calamity.
The Griffin Berner club held a meet
ing yesterday and invited the senator
to address the citizens of this county
at his earliest convenience. Mr. Ber
ner is a brilliant orator, a fine stump
speaker, and will be greeted by a large
audience if be should decide to speak
in our city. -

quarterly meeting at Williamson Saturday
and report a very pleasant time.
Mrs. J. L. Vaughn has been confined to
her bed for two or three days, from a se
vere attack of neuralgia, but is able to be
up some now.
Prof. A. W. Jackson and J. B. Reeves
spent Saturday In Griffin.
J. T. Beasly is reported as being some
better at this writing.
W. B. Jackson and wife, of Hollonvllle,
spent Saturday night here with J. B.
