All who were fortunate enough to
be present at the academy last Wed*
needay to witness the closing exercises
are under deep obligations to Judge
W. C Beeks for the magnificent en
tertainment and instiuction of the
hour. From the very first syllable till
bis courtly bow the audience was en
thralled. Not alone did be soothe the
oar with sonorous sounds and delight
the sense with juggling of words, but
gave solid substance for beneficial
thought.
Every sentence had condensed
within its syllables the germs of
thought that makes true manly and
womanly character.
We thus publicly express our sin

Directors Elected-
A large number of farmers from
Spalding and adjoining counties met
in’the courthouse yesterday for the
purpose of electing directors for their
warehouse*.
The meeting was called to order by
the chairman, A. W. Walker, when U,
B Bell wa* elected secretary pro tenu.
Drewry and Mitchell, managers of
the warehouse* last seaaon, made tbair
nport, which reflected great credit on
the manager* and was highly satisfac
tory to the patrons.
The following were elected as direc
tors for the ensuing year: W. W.
Amiss, J. G. Caldwell, R. W. Hale,
Josh Martin, A. Steinheimer, G. W.
Freeman, J. B. Bell and A. W. Walk
er.
The directors then unanimously
elected A. W. Walker chairman »nd
B W. Hale secretary.

their warehouses next season, ths
meeting adjourned.
