to the Eufaula fair, which is being

this is that five companies were in

from there had been but three

A Heeded Improvement.
Monday morning workmen be
gan taking down the rope attach
ment to artesian well No. 1, and
putting In a steam force pump to
get out the water. It is the idea
of tbo council that if tbe well will
staud a drain of twenty-five gallons
to the minuto for a few days, it
will pay to pat in the pump and
purchase an engine to work it, thus
giving tbe people a constant and
never failing supply of water. If
this can be done, it will be just as
good ns a regular artesian well, on
ly a little more costly. The well
was being pumped ail day yester
day by a Frick engine, and as far
as could be ascertained, with no
lack of water.
