The completion of the Americus, Pres
ton and Lumpkin Railroad to Lumpkin,
and its proposed extension eastward to
the Otmnlgee river, has opened to Arneri-
cua a new and rich trading territory
which onr merchants should invite, and
to aid them in doing so the Hkcokdku
Trade Issue will be mailed to every
family within that territory, as well as in
the oonnties of Lee, Terrell, Webstar,
Schley, Macon and Dooly, where the Kk-
t OKDiK already has a large uni pc-rmfinent
circulation.
We do not propose to allow advertise
ments to encroach upon the reading mut
ter, and will therefore print a paper large
enough to meet all the demands of onr
advertisers.
While the unusually large circulation
of this issue will make it of particular
value to advert i*ern, there will be no ad
vance on our regular rates.
We therefore urge upon the bnainees

represented in this issue and make it
