THE AMERICUS DAILY TlMES-RECOKDER: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 1891.
..: ,? ; ; i S <’ '■ /Brought back
to health—sufferers from tlio worst
forma of Skin and Scalp Diseases,
Scrofulous Sores and Swellings, and
■U manner of blood-taints. It’s j
done by Dr. Pierce’s Golden Med- )
ical Discovery, which purifies and |
enriches the tdood, and through it
cleanses and renews the whole sys
tem. Even Lung-scrofula (known
as Pulmonary Consumption) yields
to it, if taken m time and given a
fair trial. It’s guaranteed to'bene
fit or cure, in every case, or money
paid for it is refunded.. Only a
mcdicino that does what is claimed
for it, could bo sold on such terms.
No other medicine, besides the
“Discovery” has undertaken it.
So positively certain is it in its
curative effects as to warrant its
makers in selling it, as they are do
ing, through druggists, on trial/
It’s especially potent in curing
Tetter, Salt-rheum, Eczema, Erysip
elas, Boils, Carbuncles, Soro Eyes,
Goitre, Or Thick Neck, and Enlarged
Glands, Tumors and Swellings.
Great Eating Ulcers rapidly heal
under its benign, influence.

This is the way
with the Ball corset: if you
want ease and shapeliness,
you buy it—but you don’t
keep it unless you like it.
After two or three weeks’
wear, you can return it and
have your money.
Comfort isn’t all of it
though. Soft Eyelets, and
“bones” that can’t break or
kink—Ball’s corsets have
.froth of these.

“ ‘Then ofton thn floor am! put bur

“My blood froze at the command. for
cotmnaml it was I tried to speak, but
could not. I was unable even to move.
The keejH*r. with the sulmiissiyetiess of
those who know their lives will pay for*
frit if they disobey their ruler, made
with his eyes an appeal for mercy But,
seeing none in the kliedive’s face, he
kissed the little one tenderly, lifted her
up. opened the door, placed her inside
and, as the door swung to. he turned his
face away and groaned. The little one,
though she did not stir,’ seemed uot
afraid.
“The lions appeared surprised, and as
the largest and fiercest rose and walked
toward her I thought I should choke.
Happily the father did not see the beast.
“The khedive alone was unmoved, and
stood gazing at the scene calmly and
with the curious smile I had so often
seen play upon his features when watch*
ing the dance of a ballet. The lion went
up to the child, smelled of her, looked at
her for fully half a minute, then lay
down at her feet and beat the floor with
his frail Another lion approached. The
first one gave an ominous growl and the
second lion went back. The others
crouched low, and each second I ex
pected them to spring, hut they did not.
This continued, I think, about five min
utes. the big lion never taking his eyes
from the girl and oeaslessly lashing the
floor.
“The khedive by this time was evi
dently satisfied, and turned to the keep
er and commanded him to thrust a live
lamb into the cage through another
floor. With a celerity I have never seen
equaled, the keeper caught a straying
Jamb and obeyed As lm did so, every
lion sprang upon the lamb.
“ ‘Take out the child,* the khedive
commanded, and scarce had'the words
escaped him ere the keeper, who had al
ready run to that end of the cage, jerked
open the door, snatched the little one
out and chwqied her in his arms. The
khedive laughed, tossed the keeper n
coin, and, taking my arm, walked on.*'
