| ORANGES IN GREATEST DEMAND
Shippers Are Beseiged By Anxious
l Buyers.
Mr. S. A. Pruitt returned to Ameri
cus yesterday from a hurried trip to
south Florida, where he went to expe
dite the shipment of a lot of three
thousand boxes oranges, bought some
, time ago. Recently there has been a
j sharp advance in the price of oranges
j and 'shippers there, Mr. Pruitt says,
are overwhelmed with rush orders.
I. Fruit dealers from Georgia and distant
i states are at the. groves and packing
houses begging for oranges at any
price, almost, and still are unable to
get what they want. But for the fact
that his house had placed orders weeks
ago Mr. Pruitt could never have
secured the two carloads he brought to
Americus yesterday.
Danger in Asking Advice.
When you have a cough or cold do
not ask some one what is good for it,as
there is danger of taking some unknown
preparation. Foley’s Honey and Tar

package. Refuse substitutes. F. M.

LOCATION OF THE LETTER BOX
At Post Office is Inconvenient to
Public.
The location of the drop letter box at
the post office should be changed to
some other part of the building, as for
merly. At present the box is immedi- i
ately beneath the two mail delivery |
windows, and when a crowd of people
assemble around the windows, as is
oftimes the case, it is next to impossi- '
ble to mail letters at the post office. |
Surely some more convenient location
could be found for the letter box. I

night or two since that body, by
resolution unanimously adopted, ten
dered a vote of thanks to the retiring
member, Mr. James A. Pinkston, for
the valued services rendered the city of
Americus during his incumbency of
