Goalball Americas Championships
with Brazil stopping a penalty throw with six
seconds remaining to preserve a 5-4 victory.
In the bronze medal match, the U.S.
women’s team took care of business as they
shut out Argentina for a 6-0 win. Brazil de
feated Canada in the gold-medal women’s
final.
For the tournament, the U.S. women
recorded three shutouts in their eight games
and outscored their opponents 66-14. Asya
Miller (Portland, Ore.) led the way with 20
goals, followed by Eliana Mason (Beaverton,
Ore.) with 19, Lisa Czechowski (Boonton,
N.J.) with 18, Libby Daugherty (Mesquite,
Texas) with six and Ali Lawson Trippe
(Jasper, Ga.) with three.

stretch the lead back to 10, it
was all Nettes after that and
the game was finally tied
with around one minute left

got a steal on the next posses
sion and Caroline Mullins
finished and one lay-up and
freethrow to give the Nettes
their first lead of the game at
44-41. Another Nelson steal
led to two FTs by Caroline
Mullins and the game was
pretty much over. A shocked
Dougherty crowd and team
walked off amidst the cele
bration of the Elite Eight
bound Dragonettes and their
fans.
The 24 points in the 4th
quarter match the Nettes out
put for the previous three
quarters. Region player of the

tion came out again on lap
91 for Christopher Bell spin
ning out and hitting the wall.
The green flag flew again on
lap 97, and William Byron
passed Reddick for the lead
on lap 100 and held onto it
until the caution came out
for Chris Buescher spinning
out on lap 111. Reddick took
the lead off pit road, and was
the leader for the next restart.

held to just three points in the

getting loose and washing up
into Reddick, which ended
both of their races. On the
next restart, Logano takes
the lead from Jones who got

next caution came out for
Keselowski spinning out on
lap 158. Kyle Larson takes
the lead from Logano on the
next restart. Ross Chastain
spun in turn four, and it
ended his race. On the next
restart, Chase tried to pass
Logano and Larson for the
lead, but Larson accidently
put him in the wall, which
truly ended his race. Elliott
later spun out again with
ferson High School on
Wednesday, March 2nd to
face some fellow Dragons
and yet another #1 seed.

saw some drivers that could
turn out to be the best this
season like Reddick, Byron,
Elliott, and Larson.
Next week, we stay out
west and head over to Las
Vegas Motor Speedway, and
see if we can have three
straight good races in a row
to start out the season.
