LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period Feb.
3-9, 2021.
On Feb. 3, Lt. Michael Newman met with a man
at the sheriff’s office regarding a confrontation that
ensued when he went to pick up his son at 199 Ridge
way Road. The boy and his mother had argued over
a phone and the boy had scratches. The complainant
said a man at the residence came running outside
with a gun threatening to blow his head off.
On Feb. 4, Dep. Justyn Weaver worked an animal
complaint in the 100 block of Mann Road where a cat
had been killed by a dog and the dog shot. Evidence
was gathered and the parties encouraged to put up
cameras and advised on the magistrate court pro
cess.
On Feb. 4, Dep. Weaver was dispatched to 258
Liberty Bell Lane where a man reported tire tracks
in his yard and a cable box broken by a vehicle.
On Feb. 5, Dep. William Holt was dispatched
to 1024 Community House Road where the home-
owner said a brown pit bull was on his front porch
aggressively trying to attack his twin two-year-old
boys. The father of the twins shot the dog through
the shoulder with his 9 m.m. handgun and it ran
off.
On Feb. 5, Dep. Holt along with Sgt. Jerry Mead
ows and Major Leslie Holmes were dispatched to
182 Howard Road regarding a vehicle at the home
that was supposed to be unoccupied. Holt spotted
someone looking out the window of the home and
sounded a siren. Jerez L. Watkins, 33, emerged and
was arrested due to an active warrant in another
county.
In Watkins’ car the deputies found a stack of 26
credit cards. Watkins said the house was his mother’s
and he had permission to be there. The mother was
contacted and contradicted Watkins’ story.
A walk through of the house was done to clear it.
In plain sight was meth, a meth pipe and a syringe.
Watkins went to jail charged with possession of meth
and possession of drug related objects.
On Feb. 6, Dep. Holt, Lt. Shane Moore and Sgt.
Brandon Goins were dispatched to Morgan Dairy
Road regarding a stolen 2015 Dodge Challenger. They
found the car in the backyard of a home at 162 Mor
gan Dairy Road backed up to a tractor. The occupants

the repo man was looking for the Challenger. The
car was impounded and C1D called in.
On Feb. 7, Dep. Holt was dispatched to Fawn

shell casings. He urged the landowner to lock up
his pastures.
On Feb. 8, Dep. Weaver was watching traffic on
Hwy. 36 East at 1:43 a.m. when he clocked a 2007
Nissan Maxima running 79 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h.
zone. Dep. Anthony Redding got behind the Nissan
which swerved and finally stopped in the road.
The driver, 26-year-old Kiffinae D. Sanders, got
out of the car and Weaver detected the odor of
alcohol and marijuana. Sanders admitted drink
ing cognac and smoking marijuana. A grinder with
marijuana shake was found in the car.
Sanders blew a .120 on the roadside alco-sensor
test. She went to jail charged with DU1, reckless
driving, failure to maintain lane, a tail light viola
tion and a super speeder violation. The Nissan was
impounded.
On Feb. 2, at 5:30 a.m., Dep. Redding was moni
toring traffic at the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 7 and
the Hwy. 36 bypass when a black SUV ran the stop
sign on the bypass. He pursued and stopped the
SUV, made a passenger side approach and detected
the odor of marijuana.
The driver, Korin-Ji N. Williams-Smith, 28, did
not have her driver’s license. She gave the name of
Jilesa Turner. Due to the smell of marijuana, a prob
able cause search was done of the vehicle and two
baggies of powdered cocaine were located as was a
bag containing 14 small bags of marijuana.
Realizing she was about to be arrested, Williams-
Smith grabbed her phone off the hood of Redding’s
patrol car and fled on foot across the four-lane and
into the woods. Redding got close enough to taser
the woman but she broke the leads. He called for a
drone and sheriff Brad White arrived with it but the
female could not be found. The drugs were seized
and the SUV impounded.
