LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period April
28-May4, 2021.
On April 28, Dep. Justyn Weaver was monitor
ing traffic on Morgan Dairy Road when he clocked a
vehicle running 67 m.p.h. in a 45 m.p.h. zone. Upon
approach, he detected the odor of marijuana and
called for backup. The driver, 57-year-old Ronald S.
Carnes, had glossy, bloodshot eyes and admitted he
had smoked marijuana with his cousins after a round
of golf.
Carnes refused to give a blood sample but did
turn over a small piece of marijuana. More marijuana
shake was found in the vehicle. Carnes was arrested
and the vehicle impounded. Warrants were obtained
and a blood sample was taken. Carnes was charged
with a super speeder violation, DU1 (refusal), DU1
(marijuana) and DU1 (drugs less safe).
On April 28, Dep. Anthony Redding assisted Sgt.
Wayman Henson with a traffic stop and tasked with
transporting Edmond J. Harris, 37, to jail. Harris twice
proclaimed he had no contraband on his person.
In the jail, a strip search was conducted and Harris
quickly flushed a bag of marijuana he had hidden in
his crotch. “Man, it was just a little sack of weed,”
Harris told Redding.

odor of alcohol on Brantley who was unsteady on her
feet and had glassy eyes. Brantley could not com
plete roadside testing and blew a .207 on a roadside
intoximeter device.

wine. Her jewelry was turned over to her daughter

tain lane and reckless driving.

he just took it to play around with it. Jones is on pro
bation and was turned over to his probation officer
with a theft by taking charge pending.
