Greens gifted to Donavan's Dream by
Steve & Marjorie Harvey Legacy Ranch
More than 200 pounds of greens, 100 pounds of kale
and 100 pounds of mustard greens were donated to Do-
navan Sandford (center) and his 501 (c)3 food bank called
Donavan’s Dream by Steve & Marjorie Harvey Legacy
Ranch in The Rock.
Steve & Marjorie
Harvey (SMH) Legacy
Ranch recently learned
about the local impact
of Donavan’s Dream and
decided to donate food
for local families for
Thanksgiving. At age 7,
Donavan Sanford trav
eled to Atlanta to feed
the homeless and as a
13-year-old, he decided
to create Donavan’s
Dream, a local food
bank for those in need.
His dream became a
reality as he provides
around 200 food boxes
weekly in the com
munity and Donavan’s
Dream has grown to
include a thrift store
that helps raise funds
for food costs as well as
a mini-food bank which
provides meals for un
derprivileged students
in the Lamar County
school system on the
weekends.
“The SMH Legacy
Ranch is excited to an
nounce that we part
nered with Donavan’s
Dream food bank for
Thanksgiving! We were
so impressed with his
story, that it compelled
us to support him,” said
the SMH Legacy Ranch
social media. “We gifted
Donavan’s Dream with
220 pounds of our
very own home-grown
greens, 112 lbs of kale
and 105 lbs of mustard
greens! Donavan will
give our very first har
vest of greens away to
the community! If you
would like to volunteer
or donate visit https://
donavansdream.org/.”
Donavan’s Dream
Gifts and Thrifts is at
100-3 Southland Drive
in Barnesville and helps
offset the food bank ex
penses by selling cheap
clothes, decorations,
furniture and more. For
more, go to Donavans-
Dream.org.
“A very special and
heartfelt thank you to
Steve & Marjorie Har
vey Legacy Ranch for
blessing us and allow
ing us to bless others,”
said Donanvan.
SMH Legacy Ranch
also shared some of
their crops with Upson-
Lee High School stu
dents as they donated
360 plants including
seedlings of lettuce,
cabbage, kale, collards
and some other variet
ies.
“There’s just some
thing about seeing
seeds grow, about
seeing them sprout
up from seemingly
nowhere at all - it’s a
magical experience,”
said SMH Legacy Ranch.
“We’re looking forward
to seeing their beautiful
harvest from their gar
den. Happy harvesting!”
