Catarrh Cannot Ho Cured
with LOCAL APPLICATIONS, as they
cannot reach the scat of the disease.
Catarrh is a blood or constitutional dis
ease, and in order to cure it you must
take internal remedies. Hall’s Catarrh
Cure is taken internally, and acts di
rectly on the blood and mucous sur
faces. Hall's Catarrh Cure is not a
quack medicine. It was prescribed by
one of the best physicians in this coun
try for years, and is a regular prescrip
tion. It is composed of the best tonics
known, combined with the best blood
purifiers, acting directly on the mucous
surfaces. The perfect combination of
the two ingredients is what produces
such wonderful results in curing Ca
tarrh. Send for testimonials free.

A VALUABLE MEDICINE
For Coughs axi> Colds ix Children’.
“I have not the slightest hesitancy
in recommending Chamberlain’s Cough
Remedy to all who are suffering from
coughs of colds,’’says Chas. M. Cramer,
Esq., a well known watch maker, of
Colombo, Ceylon. “It has been some
two years since the City Dispensary
first called my attention to this valua
ble medicine and I have repeatedly
used it and it has always been benefi
cial. It has cured me quickly of all
chest colds. It is especially effective
for children and seldom takes more
than one bottle to cure them of hoarse
ness. I have persuaded many to try
this valuable medicine, and they are
all as well pleased as myself over the
result.” For sale by

Santos. Dumont met Thomas A.
Edison a day or two ago, and the
two eminent inventors had a talk
over the posibilities of aerial navi
gation. Mr. Edison told the Bra
zilian that he was proceeding on
the right line, but before he achiev
ed success he would have to get
rid of the balloon features of the
machine. ‘‘Keep reducing the
balloon bag,” said Mr. Edison,
“until it becomes so small that a
searcher couldn’t find it with a
microscope, and the problem will
qe settled and aerial navigation
commercially assured.” Mr. Edi
son says the successful flying ma
chine must be elevated and propell
ed by its own power, and not taken
up by a fluid lighter than air.
That is what Prof. Langley of the
Smithsonian Institution also says
of the matter.
The profit of a gold mine de
pends, not on the amount of rock
crushed under the stamps but upon
the amount of gold which can be
extracted from the rock. In a
simular way the value of the food
which is eaten does not depend on
the quantity which is taken into
the stomach but upon'the amount
of nourishment extracted from it
by the organs of neutrition and
digestion. When these organs are
diseased they fail to extract the
nourishment in sufficient quanti
ties to supply the needs of the sev
eral organs of the body, and these
organs cannot work without nour
ishment. The result is heart
“trouble.”’ liver “trouble,” and
many other ailments. Dr. Pierce’s
Golden Medical Discovery, acting
on every organ of the digestive
nutritive system, restored it to
health and vigor. It cures dis
eases remote from the stomach
through the stomach in which
they originated. “Golden Medi
cal Discovery” contains neither
alcohol nor narcotics.
