Fletcher—Pharr wedding in Forsyth
last Thursday. He was one of the
attendants.
Mrs. Miller G. Harrison, of Zebu
lon, was in the city a iew days last
week with her parents, Dr. and Mrs.
J. P. Thurman.
Mr. W. A. Williams came to Bar
nesville from LaGrange last week and
is engaged in the factory of Jackson
G. Smith & Sons.
Col. E. A. Stephens, a promising
young lawyer of Montcello, Ga., with
his wife is making a visit to Mr. E.
W. Rose’s family.

' Miss Annie May Sandwich, one of
Thomaston’s most popular young
ladies, has been in the city this week
a guest of her friend, Miss lone
Murphey.
Miss Luna Dean of F.ufaula, Ala.,
has been in the cky for the past
week, a guest of her friend, Miss
Marion Dloodworth. She has made
numerous friends while in the city.
Mrs. Rebecca Poe returned to her
home in Barnesville this morning af
ter spending several days very pleas
antly with Mrs. W. E. H. Searcy in
this city—Griffin Call (Saturday.)
Miss Susie Brown returned Mon
day from Locust Grove, where she
has been engaged in teaching for some
months past. She is a graduate of
Gordon Institute and is a splendid
teacher.
Mr. Morris Stein, who was in Cuba
with the Third Georgia, is now in
Barnesville. He likes Barnesville so
well that he may make this his home.
He was formerly manager of the store
of Mr. Freidman.
Col. J. Quincy Nash went to At
lanta Saturday on business. He has
done excellent service tor Gordon In
stitute since he has been a member of
the faculty and he is appreciated by
the people of Barnesville.
Col. Frank M. Stafford went to At
lanta Tuesday to accompany Gov.
Candler and his staff to Chickamauga,
where they take part in the ceiemon
ies at the unveiling of the Georgia
monument in the national cemetery
Hon. C. R. Pringle of Sandersville,
Ga., was in the city last week with
the family of Dr. J. R. Campbell.
He once lived in Barnesville and is
quite a prominent citizen of the state.
He is at the head of the prohibition
movement in Georgia.
Hon. Charles L. Bartlett, the pop
ular congressman for the Sixth dis
trict, was in Barnesville Tuesday.
He was cordially greeted by many of
his warm supporters while here. He
is very strong in this city and county
as well as throughout the district.

Protracted Services.
Protracted services will begin at
the Methodist church Sunday This
was announced sometime ago by Rev.
W. S. Stevens, the pastor, who is
greatly desirous of seeing his church
and the entire community greatly
concerned and aroused in religious
matters. It is expected that Dr. B.
Carradine, one of the country’s wide
ly known evangelists, will be present
to do much of the preaching. Dr.
Carradine is spoken of as an exceed
ingly strong and courageous minister.
No doubt large congregations will
attend the services and we hope that
great good will result from these
meetings.
A Collection of Relics.
In a show window of the store of
Mr. Morris Jacobs is a collection of
interesting articles brought from Cuba
by Mr. M. Stein. He gathered them
up while with the Third Georgia and
the collection is an interesting one
and has attrated considerable atten -
tion.
About Well Again.
We are glad to state vhat Miss Lily
Turner, who has been sick for the
past ten days, is about well again and
expects to return to her work at Gor
don Institute at once. She is much
loved by pupils and patrons and all
will rejoice over her recovery.
