Mr*. L. V. Thorpe,
Home Demonstrator, Toombs County.
On Saturday morning. June 10th, at
the curl) market at Vidalia, I will con
duct a canning demonstration, and the
wives of the farmers in this section
are urged to be present. 1 expect to
show them how to can vegetables so
they will be ahlc to sell them readily
at the market during the fall and
winter months.
I would urge the farmers and the
people of Vidalia to remember the
curb market at Vidalia every Tuesday
and Saturday morning from 8 to 10
o’clock. Farmers who bring produce
to the market are finding a ready sale
without the trouble of driving from
house to house to dispose of what
they have. 'The housewives of Vida
lia are finding the market a splendid
place to buy fresh vegetables, chick
ens, eggs and other country produce.

Why Not Make Your Home More
Comfortable with Plasterboard?
By using plasterboard you save considerable time in fin
ishing the rooms of your home.
Plasterboard is really lath and plaster combined in con
venient sired, labor saving sheets that are quickly nailed on
to the studs and make a strong, rigid wall.
You may add a finish coat of plaster or put wall paper
right on the plasterboard, just as you choose.
This is the modern way, of plastering without the muss
and loss of time in drying out.
Now is the time to buy. Drop in and see our sample
panels and how fine a job it makes.

The annual commencement exer

ended on Monday A primary con

was very entertaining. On Sunday

was fikll of truths that will uplift
and help those who heard it.
I The industrial exhibit Monday af

of the students in sewing, rug, basket

I indeed creditable. Many visitors
from among both the

I exhibits and noted with pride the
thoroughness of the work.
I The graduating exercises were held
lon Monday night, with the gradua
ting address by Dr. C. S. Wilkins of

CORD TIRES
The tire section above at the left shows
the condition of a Firestone 33x4y a Cord
Tire after 20,994 miles on a Yellow Cab

The section at the right was cut from
a new Cord of the same size. Careful
measurements show that only 1/3 of the
tread of the tire on the Yellow Cab has
been worn away after this long, gruelling
test. The carcass is intact after more
than 11,000,000 revolutions.

TATTNALL FARMER FINDS
BERMUDA ONION GREAT CROP
E. L. Y'oumans, a farmer living
near Collins, believes that the Bermu
da onion is a great cash crop for this
section.
This year Mr. Youmans has raised
400 bushels on one acre, or a total ot
19,200 pounds from the acre. Local
merchants, have bought a considera
ble quantity from him at 9 cents per
pound, and if he is able to dispose
of his crop at this rate he will re
ceive $1,728 for his acre yield.
The Georgia onions are far superior
to the Texas onions, and as the whole
sale price frequently goes as high as
15 to 18 cents, so the onion crop
seems to have wonderful possibilties
from a money standpoint.
