WEEKLY COTTON LETTER
By
Savannah Cotton Factorage Co.
I (All Ttqnlries promptly answered.)
Unsettled conditions in Europe and
the near-east disturbed' American cot
ton markets last' week. There was lit
tie speculative support, and hedge
selling continued on a liberal scale.
European news improved over tlfe
week-end, and Liverpool advanced 1 22
points on Monday, September 25th.
i American markets also advancea
early Monday, but eased off later in
the day, closing Steady, 16 to 38 points
below last week’s final figures. This
was probably due to selling by those
who did not wish to be bothered with
October tenders beginning September
I 26th.
Army worms have done considerable
j damage in the West and as far east
las Alabama. The boll weevil covered
the territory and has probably reduc
!ed the yield as much as he did last
year.
