Former Cairo Women Dead.
Thomasville, Ga. .July i0—The
funeral services of Mrs. W. B
I-Iambleton, of this city, who
died yesterday at Meigs, were
held this afternoon from the fata
ily lesidence here. Mrs. Ham-
bleton had been in failing health
for some time, but was not <o
sidered seriously ill until a few
days ago.
She was born on Nov. 10, 1847
at Cairo and was before her mar
riuge a Miss Roddenberry, n
"member of the well known fami
ly of that name in south Georgia.
She is survived by Tier husband,
two daughters and three sons,
besides a number of relatives in
this county find section.

Thomasville July, 12— Mr?,
Margaret Tuggle died at her res.
ider.ee here, nt 4:30 o’clock this
morning. She had been in fail
ing health for more than a year,
and the shock of the recent
dentil of her sister, Mrs. W. R.
Hambleton, is thought to have
hastened her end.
Mrs. Tuggle was in her seven
ty-fifth year, She was before
her marriage a Miss Margaret
Roddenberry, the daughter of
the late Dr. Robert Roddenberry.
She was a devoted member of
the Baptist, church, having join
ed it early in life. Her husband
died several years ago, and she is
survived by one sister.
The funeral services will be
held from the residence bn Col
lege street tomorrow morning at
10 o’clock.

Tlie suryey for the extension of
the P. & H. railway from Darsey
to Havana, Flu., a distance of five
miles, has been completed and
construction work will start in a
short time. This road traverses
one of the richest sections ot
Grady county and when the ex
tension is completed it will pass
through the heart of the famous
tobacco belt of northern Florida.

Whigham defeated Camilla last
Friday on the latter’s diamond
b.v the score of 5 to 3. Webb for
Whigham hit safe four out or five
times up. This gnmomade the
fifth straight win for Pitcher
Clark. The battery for Whigham
was Clark and Webb; Camilla,
Wilks and Bryan.
The Whigham boys have a good
team and have been playing some
good ball this season. They are
ready and anxious to play any
amateur team in this section.
