The Noted Lecturer to Visit
Cairo Next Monday Night,
the 22nd, inst.
Mr. C. B. Newton will
one of his famous lectures at
the academy in this city
day night. Mr. Newton is a
Californian and is said to be
the West what “Bob” Taylor
to the South. His lectures win
praise everywhere he ^appears
and the press of the country
lavish in their praise of
man. To those who are
ous l> inclined we say go out
hear him. Nor does his lecture
consist of the humorous side
together,but is dramatic as well.
The Healdsburg, (Cal.)
une has the following to say
one of his lectures:
44 Newtou’s name on a
gram insures a big audience
anywhere on the Pacific coast.
He appeared here last evening
before an immense house. As
always he was original, fresh
and brilliantly humorous. New
ton’s mission in the world is to
make people laugh. An even
ing with him drives the “blues”
away for a whole month. »»
