The Cairo Messenger
Cairo, Thdmas County, Georgia, April 15 , 1904 .
TrusselFChance.
A beautiful and impressive
wedding ceremony was solemn
ized at the Methodist church in
this city yesterday at 12:45 P-m. j
when Mr. Beverly A. Trussed
led to the altar Miss Mamie j
Ethel Chance, the nuptial cere- *
mony culminating a courtship|
of long standing. To the strains 1
of Mendalsohn's wedding march,!
with Mrs. F. M. Brannon at the 1
organ, the bride handsomely
gowned in a becoming traveling
suit of champagne mohair, ac
companied by her brides-maid,
Miss Mae Crawford, entered
from the vestibule and was join
ed at the altar by the groom and
best man, Mr. J. L- Chance, who
entered from the chancel. j n a
solemn and impressive manner
Rev. G. P. Reviere impressive-!
Iv pronounced the sacred' cer
emony which has thrilled fond
hearts for ages and invoked the
oles^ings of Heaven upon the
union. After the ceremony the
bridal party passed out by the
left aisle and were driven to the
depot, where they boarded the
east bound passenger for the
home of the groom at Ogle
thorpe. In the removal of Mrs.
Trussell from Cairo we lose one
of the flowers of pure woman
hood. She was loved and ad
mired by a large circle of warm,
sincere friends for the many
graceful attributes which she
possessed. The groom is a pop
ular young business man of
Oglethorpe, who possesses the
sterling qualities which make
manhood appear more manly.
They carry with them the
congratulations and best wishes
of hosts of friends in this city,
none among them being more
sincere and earnest than those
of the Messenger.
Some little interest will no
doubt be manifested in the elec
tion of a prison commissioner
next Wednesday, There are
reasons why the Messenger will
support Hon. J. M. Strickland
of Griffin, in the race, and chief
among them is the record of his
opponent, Hon. J. S. Turner, in
the Mamie Decris affair at the
prison farm last year, which is
no doubt still fresh in the minds
of our readers.

Judge Russell Here.
.Judge R. B. Russell, candi- I
date for the supreme bench. j
spent a short while in the city
yesterday in the interests of his
candidacy. The Messenger is for
Judge Russell for the simple and
plain reason that he is not only
an able jurist, but is a young!
man full of ambition and has a!
record of affirmed judgements
that are a credit to him.
The work upon the walls of
the two new brick stores will be
started early next week. Mr.
W. E. Dunn, who has the con
tract for their erection, will ar
rive in the city some time this
week in order to take charge of
the work Monday morning.
Mr. A. P. Spence, the smooth
est, cleverest and altogether big
gest talking knight of the grip
that ever hit this portion of the
pike, is in the city showing the
Truitt-Silvey Hat Co’s, special
line of hats. A. P. has a large
circle of friends here who are al
ways glad tc see him.
Mr. Edwin Nelson, of Ogle
thorpe, attended the Trussell
Chance wedding in this city
yesterday.
Mrs. J. N. Barrow is on a vis
it to relatives at Boston.
Mr. C. R. Watson, of Moul
trie, spent a short while in the
city yesterday.
