One of the striking Attractions of
H. 8. Barrett's New United Monster
Shows,which exhibits here.in Waycross
Thursday November 24th is tlie intel
ligence displayed by the ho?d of trained
elephants. They appear in intricate
military drills, perform musical acts,
whirl in mazy waltzes, from towering
pyramids, do numerous other amazing
feats. This perfection has only been
attained after years of bard, unremit
ting work on the part of the trainer,
Prof. George Thompson, a most humane
and capable gentleman. The two lead
ing elephantine stars are “Bismarck 1
and “Jono” a male and female, re
spectively, of the Asiatic species. They
display almost human intelligence in
their part of tlie performance. The
jolly trick clown elephants, “Doc” and
‘Ben Butler,” share the stellar honors
with their big companions<“Bismarck’
and “Juno,” and *‘Ben” are a precious
pair. Their antices surpass in humor
any of the “business” of their human
compeers. They wind up. their laugh
able act with a genuine four-found
boxing boat, in accordance with the
rules promulgated by the famous Mar
quis of Queensberry. A referee sec
onds, time-keeper, bottle holders, and
other realistic accessories, are intro
duced. A‘ glove . isr attached, la the
