THE SALE OF TA08.
Inquiries are'continually coming to
us as to the number of tags sold dup
lng the past season and as to how
these compare with the sales of the
previous season.
Ot course, the season ot 1903 and
1904 does not end until the last day
of September next. But from Oo
tober 1. 1903, to the last day of April,
1904, inclusive, the sales of tags art:
Cotton seed meal, 1,575,430, and let-
tlllrers. *007,805. For the season of
1902- 1903 they were:
Cotton seed meal, 1,521,440 and fer
tilizers. 5,481,083; excess over last
season, cotton sed meal 53,980; fertil
izers. 586.122.
In putting up cotton seed meal 20
bags to the ton are required, and each
bag must bo tagged. Fertilizers ro
quire 10 bags to the ton, and each
bag must be tagged.
Thus, we see that for the season of
1903- 1904 to April 30th, there were solo
606,780 tons of commercial fertilizers
and 78,771 tons of cotton seed meal
Up to the same time during the sea
son of 1902-1903 there were sold 548,*
168 tons of commercial fertilizers and
76,072 tons of cotton seed meal.
Reminder*.
M Wha f does that red t urn around
your right wrist signify?” said Triv*
ret to Dicer.
“That's to remind me to take cof
fee homfe this evening.”
“And what does the yarn around
your left wrist mean ?”
“That’s to remtnd me that there
is yarn on my right wrist.”—Judge.
Sallio and Willie.
“It would appear, Sallie, that this
thing of old maids warning young
girls not to marry smacks a little of
‘sour grapes.' ”
“Yes, Willie, but that is about a.
sensible as the old bachelor's toast
‘Eat, drink and be merry, for yo •
are a long time married.”—Holler
Monthly.
