let been abed on the mysterious death
of the young negro girl who was
found lying crushed on the elevatior,
.not under it) In the Aragon hotel
yesterday. Her name was Luvinia
Anderson, and she had long been em
ployed at the hotel as a maid.
So unusual were the circumstances
surroundlng.her death that the officer*
are considering a possible hypothesis
of foul play.
It was about eight o'clock yester
day morning that somebody having
need of the freight elevator, went u»>
to the fourth floor where It was stand
ing stationary, to take it down. Out
stretched on the floor of the car was
the young negro girl, crushed fatally,
and just breathing her last. She
died without ever regaining Conscious-

Richard Oleary, charged with hav
ing murdered his wife at their home
in Kearny last August, whs called for
trial today. O'Leary in alleged to
have struck his wife on the head
with a fiat iron during u quarrel. The
woman died the next day in a bos-
pitul in Newark.
