HURT-LTMBOIN WEDDING AT
OGLETHORPE LA8T NIGHT
One of the lovJIest weddings ever
witnessed wa3 the solemn and tin-
| pressive service that united in mar-
rlage Miss Charlie Hurt Harris ot
Oglethorpe and Mr. Hal I^imbdln of
Waycross. The First Methodist
j church at Oglethorpe was a scene of
unusual beauty, in the decorations of
green and White; the white llllles
used very effectively among the trail
ing and gracely Southern smilax.
Promptly at the appointed hour the
the organ played a selection from Tan-
hausser, then a lovely solo by Mls»
Greer. Prof. Beckarn of Oglethorpe
rendered “You” exquisitely in his
tenor voice and just before the Bridal
chorus entered, “Oh Promise Me"
was sweetly sung by Miss Artie
Sliealy.
The ushers: Mr. Ben Franklin, of
Barnesville, Mr. Grover MIddlebrooks,
of Atlanta, Dr. Shealy, of Oglethorpe;
and Mr. Joseph Pettibone of Waycross
entered by the different isles followed
by the brides maids, Miss Ruth Lamb
din and Miss Beatrice Lambdin, who
wore beautiful dresses of white chif
fon cloth trimmed in lace and white
fur, with black picture hats and carry
ing armsfull of pink carnations. They
were met at the chancel by
groomsmen Messrs. John Walker, Ran
Crawley.
Mist Jaffie Lilly, Maid of Honor,
wore p lovely tailored gowri of white
cloth and velvet with black picture
hat, she also carried the pink carna
tions. From another isle came Mr.
Jerome Crawley meeting her to form
with the bridesmaids and groomsmen
the circle around the altar. Mrs. Hamp
ton Weston, of Talbotton, the Matron
of Honor, entered alone, very handsora
ely gowned in brown satin and velvet
wearing a picture hat of brown with
yellow willow plumes and gold lace,
she carried red .carnations.
Then at the strains of Lohengrin’s
lovely medley march came the groom
with his best man, Mr. William Nlch-
oils, imedjapepy following wqfs the
bride on the arm of her father. The
charming bride was never lovelier
than In her golng-away-gown of brown
cloth and velvet, with her very becom
ing-hat of biown velvet and gold
rosebuds and she carried a shower
bouquet of Brides Roees and Valley
Lillie. The bride and groom took
their places at the altar and l/efore
Dr. J. B. McGee the honorable grand
father of the bride, who very impress
ively performed the beautiful Metho
dist ring service. Immediately after
the ceremony at the home of the
bride, a delightful buffet luncheon
was served to the bridal party; after
which the young couple left for the
northbound train for a short wedding
trip.
