QUITMAN’S GROWTH. |
Quitman has 3,915 people by the |
census given out recently which show ‘
a growth of about 75 per cfnt during
the last ten years. This wonderful
growth Is not on account of any fac
tories but is simply the result of the
activity of Brooks county's up-to-date
farmers.
Quitman is strictly an agricultural
town but Brooks county baa perhaps
the best set of farmers oi any coun
ty in the'state.
They practically all raise their
home supplies and those who'tlo not
raise them buy of some other Brooks
county farmer who has a surplus.
"The farmers of Brook* co»«ty
ship hogs to Tennessee” said a Quit-
man man to the writer recently.
Every other county In South Geor
gia can raise hogs as well as Brooks
county can, as soon as up*to-da,te j
methods among our farmers become
general. . *
