The Methodist Church at Black
rihear was dedicated Sunday by Bish
op Morrison. The Presbyterians and
Baptists of the town dispensed with
the services at their churches and at
tended the dedication exercises., The
balance due on the building, amount
ing to $1,131.00, was quickly raised
by Bishop Morrison.
Among the Waycross people attend
ing the services were Mrs. John W.
Adams and daughter. Miss Myrtice
Adams, and Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Dar
ling, Mr. and Mrs. J. W.« Strickland.
DEATH OF MR8. TURNER.
Mrs. M. M. Turner, of Monroe, N.
C., while here on a visit to her daugh
ter, Mrs. C. L. Youngblood, out at
Sunnyside, died Saturday night. Mrs.
Turner had only been here for two
weeks, and her illness was of short
duration. She was 62 years of age.
The remains were prepared for bur
ial by Undertaker H. Lester Man'll,
and accompanied by Mrs. Youngblood,
were carried to Monroe, N. C., for
buripl.
Mr. A. S. Rogers, of this city, has
been’awarded the \contract to erect
a handsome residence for Dr. Cald-
ell at Homerville.

The case against Charlie Davis,
charged with keeping whiskey for
sale, was again postponed in Maybr
Cox’s court this morning until 9:00
o'clock tomorrow morning.
Frank Brown, a negro, entered a
plea of guilty to carrying concealed
weapons in City Court yesterday af
ternoon, and Judge John C. McDon
ald sentenced him to pay a fine of
$100.00 or serve nine months on the
gang.
