John Eldon Rousseau d - Sunday
Oct.22 at 11:30 p. m., at the ’-oaidence
of his parents after a protracted ill-

ness.
He was a well known and popular
young man of noble character, from
one of Savannah’s old French fami
lies. For several years he was a
prominent athelete of the Y. JM. C.
A., of remarkable physical develop-j
ment, taking an active part in phys
ical culture, department of the asso-
ion and was highly esteemed by
members. In business he was
connected with the old Plant System
Railway and subsequently with the
Central of Georgia Railway In their
accounting and traffic department
where lie was hignly thought of.
While in the employ of the latter,
failing in health necessitated a loca
tion out west. After a sojourn of
three and a half years In Denver,
Colo., during which time he made a
hard fight to regain his health, every

and Mrs. J. D. Rousseau, his wife,
who was Miss Ethel Broughton of
this city, and three sisters, Mrs. J.
E. Dickins of Waycross, Mr. S. A.
Smith md Miss Maude Rousseau of
Savannah, who receive the sympathy
of many friends iii their bereavement
and who will miss a a loving and de
voted son, husband and brother. He
was a consistent member of the Cath
olic, passing quietly away after re
reiving the holy rites of the church.
His funeral occurred Tuesday morn
ing from Sacred Heart Church. The
pall ( bearers were Messrs Armond
Chaplan, Rudolph Hohenstein, Edward
O’Brien, Walter Smtih, Roger Kenne
dy and Wm. McN. Knapp.
