town, S. C.. was. arrested here by
Chief of Police A. P. Padgett and Po

returned home today after spending
the holidays with Mrs. George Xlrk-

Rev. Charles E. Butler is in the city
for a few days visiting, but has con
sented to DU the Central Baptist
pulpit at both morning and evening
service Sunday. Mr. Butler's beauti
ful voice has been heard in Waycross
before but since leaving here has been
ordained and is now preaching, and
it is said that he is as good a prof cher
as he Is a singer. If this be so It Is
saying a great deal, for" he is one of
the finest singers ever heard here.
Mr. Butler will preach at both morn
ing and evening hours Sunday. Come
out and hear him.
Miss Annie Wilby. accompanied by
her niece Miss Grace Martin, and
brother, Gray WUby, are spending the
holidays with Mrs. George Kirkland
