The negro was repre sented by Col. John S. Walker, who announced that an appeal would be taken. • Pompey Joe, a negro from George town, S. C.. was. arrested here by Chief of Police A. P. Padgett and Po liceman E. Cottingham, and Is held awaiting an officer from Georgetown.
