ALPHASCEMENT
We recommend ALPHA rather than ordinary cement
because it can be depended upon every time. ALPHA
leads in strength. It is made of the highest quality
material, mixed and burned just right and tested hourly
in the factory. Every ounce is pure, live, and active—
warranted to more than meet the U. S. Government
standard for strength and binding-power.
Those who use ALPHA always get good results.

The Cotton Shower which wan

Y. M. C. A. by the City Union of

a great success in every way. Tho
reception rooms of the Y. M. C. A.

brought out with pretty effect the
purple and white which are
King's Daughters colors. The long
table where the gifts were showered
held a pretty oblong arrangement of
cotton with its blooms.
Receiving the guests were promi
nent King’s Daughters workers en
tertaining the callers in a delight
fully Informal way. The cheerful Y.

scene, for in addition to the lovely
gifts of linen everybody had needle
and thread and were very busily en

the linen markers embroidered with

Delightful Epworth League Social.
One of the most delight&l events
of the fall was the Epworth League
Hallowe'en social which wffa glveu
Monday evening by the Epworth
Leagues of the First Methodist and
Trinity churches, at tho beautiful
country homo of Mr. and Mrs. T.

in machines and carriages early
the evening and found everything
most complete for an ideal Hal
lowe’en party.
The interior of the home was dec
orated with pumpkins, cats, hobgob
lins and other Hallowe’en symbols
which combined with vases of bright
autumn wood flowers presented
perfect Hallowe'en picture.
Many amusing games were played,
possibly the one causing the most
merriment being tho with’s wed
ding, in which the participants
in Bheets and otliej? array dear to tho
hearts of witches and “spooks.” For
tunes were well told in a cleverly
decorated tent by a "true, true"
witch or so it appeared until one saw
the pretty face of the fortune teller.
A mirror was arranged in which tho
young people saw the features
their futuro wife or husband.
After all the sports indoors, th 1
merry party went outside where
Immense fire burned on tho tennl.
court. Here cane, nuts and other
fall niceties were Indulged in. A ter
rible locking witch stirred and brew
cd a suspicious looking drink In
huge Iron kettle, but it proved to be
the most delectable fruit punch,
Altogether the affair was a perfect
one and will be long remembered by
all present.
About eighty young people enjoye*
