THE EXCELLENCE OF SYRUP OF FIGS

all the importance of purchasing the

SHUT OFF THE SPRINKLERS,
Drought Caused the € itv's Water Sapply
: to Run Short,
Monday's rain relieved the situation
in Dawson considerably. By reason
of the contivued drought the water
supply had become inadequate to the
demand, and a serious situation was
threatened, The stream from which
the city is supplied with water had
nearly gone dry, and last Wednesday
was not furnishing more than half
enough water to keep the reservoir
full, Had a fire occurred the need of
water would have been felt. and as a
matter of precaution Superintendent
Horsley requested consumers to shuy
off their yard and garden sprinklers
for several days, The request was
cheerfully complied with by most of
the patrons of the company, and by
Saturday a sufficient quantity of water
had accumulated to authorize its use
two hours a day by each consumer
for yard and garden purposes. Since
the rains there is plenty of water, and
the usual amount 1s again being used.
Superintendent Horsley appreciates
the cheertulness and promptness with
which consumers comphed. with his
request for economy in the use of water
while the supply was so short,
