Near Fatal Accident
Roscoe Godfrey came very near
losing his life Sunday afternoon.
He was inspecting a 32 revolver,
which in some was discharged, in
flicting an ugly wound across the
forehead, which will not prove
fatal. He says: “The hand of God
must have played a part in it that
the accident did not prove fatal. I
am happy to state Istill llve. I
purchased the 52 & few days ago
with the intention of going out hunt
ing early in the morning, but since
the accident I have no desire to
hunt.”
Charley Brubaker
Held Up and Robbed
Charles Brubaker, an ex-police
ma of this city, was held up and
robbed last night by two men who
he thinks were white. He had spent
the evening with friends, and on his
return to his home on East Magno
lia he was grabbed by two men on
East Pine and told to “shell out,” ‘
which he did, to the tune of $2.60.
Mr. Brubaker feels sure he could
identify one of the robbers. So far
no arrests have been made.
