Mr. H. D. Taylor, who moved
here several years ago from Dooley
county died at his home west of
the city Saturday and was laid to
rest in the Evergreen cemetery
Sunday afternoon, Rev Cozart
officiating. A large concourse of
friends in wagons, buggies, and
cars accompanied the remains to
its last resting place.

Mrs. D. P. Adams entertained
four tables of bridge Friday af
ternoon in honor of Misses Hart
nett and McLaren, two popular
‘members of the public school
faculty who will leave shortly to
spend the holidays at their respec
tive homes. The living room and
parlor were thrown together and
elaboratély decorated in green and
white, roses being abundantly
used. Green and white mints in
silver bonbon dishes were placed
on each table. After the game a
delicious three coarse luncheon‘
was served, the hostess being as
sisted by Mrs, Keim. jThose pres
ent were: Misses Hartnett, Mec-
Laren, Reynolds and Glover;
Mesdames Spiller, Pittman, Eigin,
Legeour, Sheehan, Mingledorf, J.
L. Dorminy, McCarty, and Keim.
Mrs. G, W. Cole and little
daughter, Carolyn will remain in
Fitzgerald for the Christmas holi
days.
Miss Edith Griner will arrive
this week to spend the holidays
with Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Griner.
Miss Allie Mayes after a short
visit in Atlanta will arrive in the
city Thursaay {rom Brenau Con
servatory.
Miss Alice Sheppard has return
ed to Abbeville, after a visit to
Mrs. J. L. Pittman.
