the street. She and her daughter

drunken father and husband aaw

ball taking effect in the heart.
The doctor and his wi f e came
of good families, and at one
time Ilanvey was atomising phy
sician, but strong drink got the
advantage of him and he went
wrong. Three year* ago he and hia
wife separated on account of hia
dissipation and he went abroad
returning last spring to hia family
who received him cheerfully, he
agreeing to reform, but the de
mon hud too strong a hold on him
and he soon took to . drink again,
and the killing of his wife was the
result. He gave himself up to the
officers a few hours after the kill
ing.
