Mrs. E. J. Christv. living just
outside of the corporate limits of
Danielsville, grew in her home gar
den this year, from one vine, six
teen large pumpkins, more than
half of them being much larger
than a large water bucket—enough,
in fact, for.a < i:e-horse wagon load.
'The vine was a “volunteer” and
two of the ‘‘pnnkins” spoiled be
fore being gathered. Now, if that
isn’t “some pnnkins,” we await a
report from someone who can
“cap” it.

For the first time in’a good long
while an arrest has ben made in
Danielsville for a violation of the
prohibition law. We understand
that two young white men wereaiv
rested hero last Saturday night for
being found in an intoxicated con
dition and in possession of liquor.’
“Old J. B.” is a dangerous custo
mer to tamper with, boys, especi
ally under our present'‘bone-dry”
law. You would better give him
a “wide berth.”
Mr. F. W. Graham, who has
been suffering from a severe attack
of rheumatism, was here Monday.
We are pleased to state that he ; s
now much better and we hope will
soon be entirely well,
Mr. S. B. O’Kelley, of Athens,
spent Sunday here with his father,
Mr. S. C. O’Kelley, and family.

State of Mississippi shipped less
! than 8,000 hogs to tlm St. Louis
i market, whereas, during the first
| six months of 1919 the shipment
of hogs to this market amounted
to 137,000.
It is possible that Mississippi
i lias increased her hog production
more rapidly than some others of
| tb,e Southern States, but some of
them htive no doubt done as well,
and the above figures may lie taken
as a pretty gcod index of the in-
I crease of hog shipments from t'-o
| South during the past five years.
