vorably reported by Editor Car*-
weil:
Just here Hon Chas. H Brand,
who, as was evinced by the demon
stration given, is popular among the
rural free delivery men, and was on
the program for the afternoon, was
permitted to make his address. He
began by paying his respects to our
boys who sleep in “‘Flanders Fields,
where the poppies blow, and to
I “Mother". His remarks were well
! chosen and beautiful, and through
! out the audience men, women and
| children, old enough to know the
! meaning of what he said, were moved
to tears. He devoted a great deal of
his time to matters of legislation,
I firmly gave his position with refer
ence to the rural mail carriers and
had many good things to say of Lo
i gansville, her people and his boyhood
days among those whose memories
he holds most 3acred and dear. His
speech was happily received.
