"WHAT THE WOMAN’S CLUE OF
DA N.t ELb \ lU..fc. HAS ACCOM
!:L: IE SINCE IL2I
It it with much pride, jer rather
snthufU.sm and profound interest
we refer to our accomplishments du
ring our practical two years of Club
activities 3 Since our Club was or
ganised or- May 19, 1921. you will
see, we are 2 yea*As, 2 months and
18 day-: young, still being fed from
a Lottie as. we yet are rot financially
E’de to federate, due principally :
the fact that our supreme effort has
been to the children of our own
community through the public school.
Upon cur school organization we
we. o not able to have an accredited
high school, on account of the fact
that no Domestic Science roon was
equipped and this we proceeded to
look into.. Therefore the first under
taki ag of our Club was to fully equip
the Domestic Science Department in
the new iiehool building. Since a
corside able sum of money was need
ed to equip this department, the
Ck‘b decided to raise this sum by
giving ;> “chicken mull” and ice
cream festival. By the faithful ef
fort;' of the members, and hearty co
operation of the people of the com
munity this affair was quite a suc
cess, the net proceeds amounting to
The Club felt very proud
indeed of this amount, since it was
cur first effort to raise money. Since
then wo Lave done quite a good many
things in order to swell our bank ac
count .
In looking over the Treasurer’s
book .since our organisation in 1921
until now, J find we have taken in
about sfibo.oo
It cost approximately $150.00 to
equip the Domestic Science kitchen,
and not mentioning every little thing
but just here let me say we have re
cently finished a Loom in the base
ment of our new school building,
which cost uh very near $300.00.
This indeed we are proud of, for since
'lt \ i j.fcfcU-n the ’tru&teck otf the
school have given this room to tv; to
be used as the Woman’s Club Room,
all our own, so long as the Club exists
The ir'hjcct given me—“ What, our
Club has accomplished since 1921”,
is a big one, for we feel and know
that we have accomplished lots, but
1 have only mentioned a few of tb;
big things we have dene.
And last- but not least, but the
greatest thing thatr the Woman's
Club lias accomplished is that it has
given to Madison County and Daniels
ville an accredited High School,
which meant all for the town and
community.
Wo arc awale of the fact that be
fore our school could become an ac
credited high school, we were com
pelled to have a thoroughly equipped
| Domefetlic '? irlsnce Department, and
! as 1 nave before stated, this is the
vecy feat thing we did, thus giving
I our town and community an acci’ed
! ited nigh school, whereby our own
i boys and girls are given an opportu
nity to rmeain at home and go thru
the 11th -’"ate and then enter college
without an examination.
Thus the Woman’s Club takes all
the “pomp and glory,” which we feel
' we justly deserve, besides the other
j great things we have done.
I And again let me say that only a
j few of the ladies of the town have
; -woHse-l together .and made ail this
j possible, I .say onlv a few, for really
| it is a few compared to the number
of ladies we have in town who could
help.
And iust ’-.ere it seems to me quite
: fitting a: 1 p.oper that we all. with
j one accord, ;r,hesitatingly, and if
necessary with some sacrifice, should
! combine -• i zet.l. interest, energy
and common resile to further t;
cause .-.el out nd purposed in the
organization to be mutual in counsel

moral advancement in our communi
ty and we beg of each one to join us
in this wholesome desire and pleas
ant undertaking.
