with a social at the home of Miss
Clemons Flee in an, Saturday evening,
September 22. Quite a number of
games were enjoyed by those present
and the cider people present enjoyed
a merry burst of laughter when the
young people opened the Cats’ Con

The Septertogg meeting m the
Colbert Woman’s Club was . at
the home of Mi-sf. G. L. Lotion.
The meeting was opened by the
president, Mrs. Hampton, aft.. 1
which the roll was called. Fifteen
members were present. A general
repo.t of last year’s work was given
iby Mrsw Hart. The success of th
| Club has been most gratifying during
'the year just passed; The financ-al
report was good, $149.07 having
[ passed through the treasurer’s hands
and beginning this year with a bal
'ar.ee of $41.73 This repost was
followed by the annual election cf

poses’ proceeded to levy the tax for
County purposes for the year 1923,
as follows:
I It appealing that the tax digest
shows a decrease in the total amount
of property given in fir taxation of
$778,585.00, while the exnense r-f
the county shows no decrease. And
it further appealing- that neither or*
i of the three grand juries the p.esent
yew made any direction as to the
amount of the tax levy to be made
the present year;
1 . Therefore it is ordered that the
rate of the levy of the tax for county
purposes be fixed at 12 mills on the
ore dollar’s wo-.th of property as
shown on the tax digest or 12 dolla r
on the one thou, and dollars worth
of property on the tax digest. I 1
amount being ....... $33,377.05
2. Also a levy of five mills or the
one dollar of taxable property within
the c anty fo county wide school

rection of the County School Board

pay all the warrants drawn under
that head; And all funds coming into
.the depository outside the property
tax are set aside to be used first in
! paying all warrants drawn under the
head of Levy No. 3.
