Th<s many friends of Col. John F.
Gordon were very sorry to ’eain of
his death. He was born and grew
to young manhood near this olatc,
and was highly esteemed by tl; >se
who knew him. We sympathize with
the bereaved.
The farmers are very busy gatr. -
ing their crops—the cotton crop is
bettc-r than was expected at one time;
all who used poison feel encourage
over the future Outlook and feet sure
that they can still grow cotton.
Several from here attended the

Sunday.
Mr. Ralph Parker who is teaching
in S. C. spent the week end here.
Mr. and Mr.'. W. F. Wilde-,
former* residents of this place, but
now living in Commerce, spent last
week here the guests of relatives.
