That everything with o shell on goes. Isn’t the rule any longer. On
ket today, it still goes, but at a price below a Aral-class egg Opportunity
the greatest success in egg production lies in producing an article that !!et;n|
than the average, then “(tiling it as such. If isn't hart) to find a market wllllnr|
to pay a premium of ii to '7 cents a dozen over firsts and from 9 to 18 cents a|
dozen over seconds, according to the Sears-Roebuck Agricultural F<in<l*tlm I
The premium on fresh-gutliered firsts at New York City during three-vcirl
period over fresh gathered seconds wits substantial ns shown by the aceornpic,,l
lug cbart. During February. March and April, when practically all eggaJrtl
good, tlie prices of extra firsts average only front 1 to 4 coins higher than i M
seconds, in May The spread begins to widen. In August the margin on er
firsts is around !t cents. It continues to widen until in November, when tj,,
high peak la reached, wfth extras at 02 cents a dozen and seconds t -ll cesix
It eoaia'a little nwwe and it takes h lot of extra effort to market high q ua [ !tj
tggs. Yet tlie gain Is ample return for the extra expense and labor.
