IN MEMORY OF
W. W. CHRISTIAN
The death engel visited our com
munity on Aug. 14 and carried a-vay
Mr. W. W. Christian.
He had a stroke of paralysis last
November and had been in bad
health over since. He tolu hrs people
the day he had his second stroke that
he felt better than he had since t-/ie
first stroke. He ate dinner trat day
and laughed and talked more than
usual.
He was a member of Slilo Baptist
church. He was a true member, ever
ready to lend a helping hand to those
in need.
He was always glad tc have his
pastor visit him; it seemed to en
courage him so much.
’Twas sad, so sad, to g'ivc him up,
yet we know God d.ith all things
well. While we mbs him and grieve
that we can be with him no more,
we feed that our loss is his gain and
that he has been called to higher
service in the great beyond. We hope
to ever cherish his memory and feel
the inspiration of his unselfish life.
Mr. Christian lived to a very old
age. lie would have been 68 years
old Sept. sth. Ho was a great lover
of music and did enjoy playing his
fiddle so much
His home is so sad since he went
away. His chair s vacant and never
be filled again on this earth, yet we
hope and trust to meet him in a
better world where death and sor
row is never known.
On Aug. 15, he was laid to rest in
Shilo cemetery, Rev. W. M. Saye of
Athens conducting the funeral ser
vices.
He leaves a devoted wife, ten chil
dren, twenty-three grand-children, a
number of other relatives and friends
to mourn his sad death.
—One who knew him and loved him.
We Guess That Risfht
“it’s easy enough to tell who is
boss in the average American home
co day.”
“Dow so?”
“Well, if the wife is bobbed—she
is lo s. Unbobbed, bossed.
A Cruel Joke . .
F'rffc Yegg: “Don’t you wary,
Pfb', We are in Arizona now—and
oy o -ver hang a man with a wood
en here.”
Pete: “Why not?”
Firs': Yegg: “They use a rope.”
