Mr. Cameron, from the committee on naval
affairs, reported back with amendments the
bill (Introduced by him yes'erdaj) to in
crease the naval establishment, and gave
notioe that he will call it np Monday imme
diately after the morning business. The
amendments made by tbe naval committee
have the tifret of fixing the. bonne to be
paid the contractor for tbe ' first knot in tx-
eess of the contract rate of twenty knots to
be allowed l y the proposed new cruisers,
at $100,000 aud for each additioial knot at
$200,000. The aggregate of the appropria
tion. $21,800,000, has not been changed.
