Round-the-State Tour.

Savannah Automobile Club,which
will stage the big double header,
blue ribbon automobile classic in
Savannah during Thanksgiving
week, has returned from Atlanta
with the announcement that there
will be over one hundred cars in
Georgia round the state tour which
will precede the Vanderbilt and
Grand Prize Races, and will be
timed so as to arrive in Savannah
a day before the first event. Pro
vision was mad*" for four classes us
entrants, with prizes of $650 in
each class, or a total of s2,COO,the
prizes in each class being S3OO,
S2OO, SIOO and SSO for first, sec
ond, third and fourth places. In
audition to this Savannah offers
S6OO in three prizes for the city
sending the largest number of
persons to the races through that
medium
The route of the tour was fixed,
as already announced, it being
definitely decided to go through
Waycroßß, direct from VY rillacoo
chee. The only point regarding
the route yet to be decided is that
portion of it from Baxley to Sa
vannah.
The route by Reidsville, Clax
ton, Pembroke and Clyde has al
ready been tested. A trip will be
made next week by Glennville,
Mclntosh, Hinesville, and Midway
Church’ after which definite an
nouncement of the entire route
will be made. This is the only
point remaining to be determined.
The entrance fee was fixed at
the merely nominal sum of $5
Night stops will be made at Ameri
cus, Valdosta, Baxley, Savannah
and Dublin, the tourists remain
ing in Savannah during the five
days of the races including Sun
day, Nov. 26
