$25,000 Found in Tree
An iron box containing $25,000 was
found buried in the roots of an aged
tree by a woodcutter at Berford, Pa.
Robert Boyer found the box. Most of
the money was in bill form, but in bad
condition.

Jessie A. Geiger of
Toombs County, Georgia, by her
Warranty Deed dated October 27,
1916, and duly recorded in Book 6
at page 525 of the Land Records of
Toombs County, coveyed to
the Pearsons-Taft Land Credit Com
pany, a corporation, the following
described real estate in Toombs
County, Georgia, to wit:
In the 43rd Georgie Militia Dis
trict, bounded on the North by lands
of the Estate of C. W. Brazell, on
the East by lands of W. C. Conner,
on the South by lands of J. H. Mc-
Cullough and on the West by lands
of Clark and Company; containing
50 acres, more or less;
To secure the promissory note of
said Jessie A. Geiger for the sum of
One Hundred Ten ($110.00) Dol
lars, payable in installments, and in
said deed provided that in event of
the default in the payment of any
installment of said note, said Com
pany might declare the unpaid bal
ance thereof at once due and pay
able and sell said land for the pay
ment thereof; and
WHEREAS, the installment of said
note due January 1, 1924, was not
paid when due and is still unpaid and
said Company has declared the en
tire unpaid balance of said note now
due and payable;
NOW, THEREFORE, Taft and
Company, formerly the Pearsons-
Taft Land Credit Company, under
and by virtue of the power and au
thority in said Company vested by
said Warranty Deed, will proceed to
sell the above described real estate
and appurtenances thereunto belong
ing at public sale to the highest bid
der for cash at the door of the Coun
ty Court House in the City of Lyons,
State of Georgia, between the hours
of 10:00 A. M. and 4:00 P. M., on
the 4th day of June, 1924, for the
purpose of paying said indebtedness
and the costs of said sale.
As provided in said deed, said sale
will be subject to the rights of the
holder of that certain principal note
for the sum of Eight Hundred
($800.00) Dolars and interest there
on at 6 per cent from January 1,
1923, described in and secured by
that certain Warranty Deed record
ed in Book 6 at page 524 of the Land
Records of Toombs County, Georgia.

ed the Ist. day of January 1924, and
recorded in the office of the Clerk of
Superior Court of Toombs County,
Georgia, in Book of Deeds 11, pages
533-4, the undersigned will offer for
sale before the Court House door of
said county, for cash, on the first
Tuesday in June, 1924, within the
legal hours of sale, the following
described property, to wit:
All that lot or parcel of land, with
improvements thereon, lying and be
ing in the City of Vidalia, Toombs
County, Georgia, located on the
South-east corner of Church and
Fourth Streets, and fronting on said
Church Street a distance of Seventy
(70) feet, and running back an even
width as front for a distance of Two
hundred Ten (210) feet, and bound
ed as follows, to wit: On the north
by Fourth street; on the east by land
of A. P. Thompson; on the south by
land of J. T. Ragan & Co.; and on
the west by Church Street.
The property being sold as the
property of Mrs. Edward C. Barrs
for the purpose of paying the sum of
Sixteen Hundred Thirty and 30-100
($1630.30) Dollars, repesented by
forty (40) promissory notes for the
sum of Forty & 00-00 ($40.00) Dol
lars each and one promissory note
for Thirty Dollars ($30.30),
all of which said notes bear in
terest from the Ist. day of January
1924, at the rate of 8 per cent per
annum.

payment of five of the said promis
