HIMALAYA VINE YIELDS
125 QUARTS OF BERRIES.
Mr. J. C. Meadows of Norman
town, who lias the champion Hima
laya vine of the county, informs us
that the vine has yielded 125 quarts
of berries. Some weeks ago Mr.
Meadows stated that he would get
60 quarts off the vine, hut the yield
gieatly exceeded his original esti
mate. ,
This vine is planted along the fence
of Mr. Meadows’ hack yard and ow
ing to its dense growth there were
many berries that could not he pick
ed. The vine should be planted on
an arbor, Mr. Meadows believes.
These berries are close kin to the
blackberry and dewberry and are
fine for table use as well as for pre
serving.
No Worms in a Healthy Child
All children troubled with Worms have an un
healthy color, which indicates poor blood, and aa a
rule, there is more or I eas stomach disturbance.
GROVE'S TASTELESS CHILL TONIC given regu
larly for two or three weeks will enrich the blood,
improve the digestion, and act as a general Strength
ening Tonic to the whole system. Nature will then
throw off or dispel the worms, and the Child will be
in perfect health. Pleasant to take. 60c per bottle.

EMANUEL FARMERS PLEASED
WITH CROP OUTLOOK BIG
CELEBRATION ON 4tH—TATT
NALL FARMERS ORGANIZE.
(Swainsboro Forest-Blade.)
The people of Emanuel county ap
pear to be feeling very much better
about crop prospects than they did
three weeks ago, and it is now gen
erally conceded that this county will
make a good corn crop, and if the
weevils can be kept down, it will
make fully as much cotton as it did
last year.
The people are taking to the syrup
and arsenate poisoning for the boll
weevil, and those who have applied
it state that it does the work very
effectively.
The Fourth of July celebration in
Swainsboro this year was enjoyed by
at least three thousand of Emanuel
county’s citizens.
The city council, as a sort of out
let for exuberance over the comple
tion of the water works system, plan
ned the program for the particular
glorious Fourth, and they are to he
sincerely congratulated on having
staged quite a success.
(Tattnall Journal.)
For some time the school <p'tricts
of Reidsville, Cobbtown
and Manassas have been planning
for new and additional school build
ings for their respective districts.
Glennville has already begun the
much needed and wise move by hold
ing her election for a S3O,(XX) bond
issue on July Ist, in which election
166 votes were east for bonds and 5
■against them. This result was very
gratifying and it is hoped that the
new six-room building proposed will
soon be a reality.
A mass meeting of the farmers and
business men of Tattnall and sur
rounding counties to consider the
California Co-operative Marketing
plan as applied to cotton, was held
in the court house at the noon re
cess of superior court Thursday.
Mr. J. A. Callaway, a prominent
farmer of Manassas, was made chair
man of the meeting and Mr. M. W.
jFason was elected secretary.
Much enthusiasm was in evidence
at this meeting, and all indications
point to the fact that Tattnall will
subscribe its quota of cotton to per
fect the organization within the next
sixty days.

FINDS BEE-KEEPING TO BE
PROFITABLE IN COUNTY.
Mr. W. E. Buckner, our progres
sive bee keeper, finds that modern
methods work successfully in our
county. He has had a favorable sea
son. though the yield has not been
up to the average. His spring work
is done and he leaves tomorrow in
his Ford with his family for a visit
to his old home in Dickson county,
Tennessee. They will travel through
the country because he will need his
Ford in handling his bees back home.
He still has his apiaries there and
thinks lie has a good crop of honey
awaiting his care and attention. He
expects to return in time for his fall
work with his bees here. —Montgom-
