The Brunswick Harbor.
Gen. Wright, Chief Engineer of tbe
United States Army, has just com
pleted bis annua) report for the fiscal
year ending June 30th last. In it
tbe following report is made of tbe
progress of the work in onr harbor:
Tne aggregate length of the jetty
is now 2,104 feet, Daring the last
fiscal year 16,016 onbio yards of mate
rial were dredged ou a line parullel to
the jetty, ard about 720 feet last of it.
Two cuts Lave been made through
the shoal to a low water depth of 16
feet. Tbe cats nre about 4,400 feet
long, nnd eaoh one ie from 20 to 25
feet wide. Two other cuts of the
same width have been carried partly
over the shoal to a depth of only 12
feet. Tbe jetty work stands well,
and tbe low water depth of 15 feet,
obtained by dredging, have shoaled
up iu a few places nuly, reducing tbe
depth to 13 aud 14 feet. Since tbe
survey of 1879 the upper end of the
brand) on whioh tbe town of Bruns
wick is located has sho.iled up con
siderably, indicating that some works
will be needed to aid tbe flow' of wa
ter tbrougb the branch. A project
for some works nt tho upper end of
the branch will be prepared. The
amount necessary to c-m pTto the
present'project is $13,000, .vliicliis
recommended to be appr ■ nuted tit
