HUM. KERB, EDITOR.
MART TEXAS
To the Editor of The Murray
News, Dear Sir:—I thought 1
would give you a few sketches
of our little town.
We live in one mile of the city
of Mart Texas. It is on the I. &
G. N railroad and has three
thousand inhabitants. It has a
high school with about live hun¬
dred pupils enrolled. It has
twelve literary teachers and one
music teacher. .We think it is a
fine school.
Mart has two banks, four cot¬
ton gins, one of which will be run
the coming season by the elec¬
tric plant. It also has a com¬
press, an oil mill and a cotton
warehouse. Mart has weighed
up to the present time twenty
six thousand and five hundred
bales of 1909 cotton.
The I. & G. N. roundhouse is
at Mart, its payroll being $85,000
per month; it also has a fine Y.
M. C. A, building.
Mart also baa four churches, is
a fine little six year old town
which we are proud of.
Say, Mr Editor, what lias be¬
come of the Crandall writers?
We would like very much to
hear from them as it is near our
old home in Georgia. Stir up
yourselves all of you writers to
The Murray News anil write all
the news for we Texas folks like
to hear from you all and also the
Texas writers.
Georgia is a grand old state
1 was in Georgia last May, was
called there by the death of my
father. John T Adair. This was
a very sad trip to me indeed.
There is a reaper whose name is
Death and as our mortal eyes
can not pierce the viel of futuri¬
ty his presence ever casts an aw¬
ful gloom. Many were the hearts
that ached in unison with those
of his loved ones when the sad
news came, sad for the vacancy
left sad for the loss of a good
father. He was ever ready to
speak a word of cheer, or lend a
helping hand to his children and
good wife and also to his friends
and neighbors. Sad for the loss
of the bright companionship of a
sweet spirited noble, intellectual
man, whose inlluence led ever
qnward and upward. His mem¬
ory will last as long as life with
alt who knew him. To know him
was to love him.
In his devotion to his church
and Sunday school he was ever
faithful and true.
I will close with best wishes to
all, hoping to hear from ull
the writers soon.
Mrs. L. A. Pi.kmons.

“I have found a cure for the
misery malaria poison produces,”,
says R. M. James, of Louellen,
S. C. “It’s called Electric Bit¬
ters, and comes in 60 cent bot¬
tles. It breaks up a case of chills
or a bilious attack in almost no
time; and it puts yellow jaun¬
dice clean out of commission.”
This great tonic medicine and
blood purifier gives quick relief
in all stomach, liver and kidney
complaints anil the misery of
lame back. Sold under guaran¬
tee at Arrowood and Rouse’s
store.
Deafness Cannot be Cured
by local treatment, as the can¬
not reach the diseased portion of
the ear. There is only one way
to cure deafness, and that is by
constitutional remedies. Deaf
ness is caused bv an inflamed
condition of the mucous lining of
thr Eustachian Tube. When
this tube is 6uflamed you have a
rumbling sound or imperfect
hearing, and when it is entirely
closea, Deafness is the result,
and unless the inflamation can
be taken out and this tube re¬
stored to its normal condition
hearing will he destroyed forev¬
er; nine cases out of ten are
caused by Catarrh, which is noth¬
ing but an inflamed condition of
the mucous surfaces.
We will give One Hundred
Dollars for any case of Deafness
(caused by catarrh) that cannot
be cured by Hall’s Catarrh Cure.
