THE FOURTH ANNUAL FAIR
THE UNWORTHY CONDUCT OF
AGENTS OF COMPETITIVE SHOW '
IN REGARD TO ROBINSON’S CIRCUS
OF THE
OEORCIMROUNfl PAIR
Association
WILL BE HELD AT
fluousm on.
NOVEMBER 8-13,1909
INCLUSIVE—=r
Last Friday and Saturday reports
were circulated here to the effect that
.John Robinson’s circus wouldut exhibit
here as advertise I, but not until Tues
day could the rumors be traced to their
origin. At that time it developed that
bill posters purporting to be represent
atives of B num & Bailey’s shows
stated to several citizens in this section
that Robinson’s circus would not show
here and it is reported that they even
took up admissions for poster rights
and substituted their tickets for anoth
er exhibition, pasting over the Robinson
posters.
The statement gained widespread
piblicity and it is believed that many
people were kept away from the circus
here. There seems to be no doubt as to
th s circulation of the reports, but de
spite this fact Robinscn had a large
crowd here and the shows always carry
out their program as advertised unless
prevented by inclemont weather as
was the case here last year. The act in
q lest ion is considered qu.to reprehen
sible in every way scores of people who
have expressed their opinion concern
ing the same. Not only does such re
ports irjure John Robinson, but it keeps
people away from this city.
