Blnford-Barnes Wedding.
Joined in wedlock at the home of
the brides’s parents here Wednesday
morning at 11 o'clock, Miss Lucie
Gladys Binford and Mr. Theodore Turk
Barnes. The wedding was one of
unusual beauty, the ceremony being
performed by Rev. Ford McRee. i
Many out-of-town guests were present
and the large number of presents and
warm congratulations attests the
popularity of the young couple.
Miss Binford had only been a resident
of Milledgeville for nbout a year,
but during that time she won numerous
friends and is one of the most popular
young ladies of the city, very beautiful
and charming in every way. Mr.
Barnes is a native of the town, so to
speak, and has countless numbers of
friends.
Immediately after the ceremony Mr.
and Mrs. Barnes left on an auto trip to
Dublin and with them goes best wishes
of all their friends.
Dancing Monday Night
Several young ladies of the city com
plimented their gentlemen friends with
a dance Monday night, which was pro
nounced an elegant affair. The first
few sets were in masquerade costume.
The chaperones were: Dr. and Mrs.
Atkinson, Dr. and Mrs. Mobley, Mr.
and Mrs. Bland, Mr. and Mrs. Napier,
Mr. and Mrs. Treanor. Mr. and Mrs,
Nisbet, Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell and Mrs.
Roberts. ,
Miss Mary Ivey and Mrs. W. A.
Massey spent yesterday at Cooperville.
• Mis3 Edith Miller is at home from
Bessie Tift for Thanksgiving.
Mr. F. M. Leverett, age 76 years,
ex-Confederate and one of the best
known men in Baldwin county, died at
his home, near Black Springs and was
buried Monday, Rev. Lamar Sims
officiating.
Mr. J. F. Bell has sold his grocery
business to W. L. Hargrove & Co. and
they will conduct it at the same place.
Mr. Bell will go in other business.
Mr. Thomas Lamar, of New York is
visiting his parents here, Mr. and Mrs.
L. J. Lamar.
Mrs. H. D. Allen is visiting friends
in Macon,
Mr. and Mrs. Lumpkin Gumm, of
Dawson.is visiting the farmer’s parents
here this week, Mr. and Mrs. George
Gumm.
Miss Van Buren, of Griswoldville,
visited Miss Hattie Pottle this week. ,
Mr. Joseph A. Moore spent Sunday at
Sharon, his old home. j
At the Red Men’s hall tonight will be
a dance eiven by Mr. S. H. Carlisle in
honor of several young lady friends,
who are visitors.
Smllti-Flury Wedding.
Monday morning Rev. Lamar Sims
officiated at the weeding of Miss Leslie
Smith and Mr. Harry Flury, of Midway
The marriage occurred at the home of
Mr. ami Mrs. Beck where the couple
will reside.
Miss Smith is quite well known in
Milledgeville and Midway and Mr.
Klury is connected with the gtate
sanitarium. Best wishes and con
gratulations were extended the young
couple by a host of friends.
The Bazaar at’Red Men’s Hall will
open Monday, Dec. 6, at 10:30 o’clock
and the prize doll will be in Wootten's
window next Monday. After the first
day the Bazaar will be open only in the
afternoon and evening.

Coates and Mr. Rene Hoguet, at
Hawkinsville.
It will be welcame to many friends to
learn that Mrs. B. Wilson, who has
been quite sick for the past five weeks
is steadily improving at this time.
Mayor Miller S. Bell has been con
fined to his room for the oast two days,
much to the regret of his friends.
