MILLEDGEVILLE, GA.'} t FRIDAY, Jan. 7. 1910J
$1.00 Per Annum
TAX RATE WILL
BE LOWER NOW
Inless Many Improvements Are
Made. Streets Paved, $L080
Bond Retired, And $3,M0
Floating Debt Paid.
Milledgeville property owwers stand a
food chance for a fair reduction in taxes
this year unless many material improve
ments are made, requiring much cash
outlay. During the past year the bond
ed debt of the city lws been reduced
$1,000 and the floating debt is $3,00#
less than at this time a year ago.
The increase in taxable property
brought in t-.bout $2,500 to the city, to
say nothing of more street and dog
taxes. With prosperity abroad it it.
quite certain lower taxes and better
conditions in every wav will prevail
during the next tweho-month.
